The final deliverables of the FINALLY project will be closely implemented in the curricula of selected courses within the pre graduate and post graduate programs offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Work of the Trnava University. All of these programs – be it Social Work, Public Health, or Nursing – do have a significant dimension that is related to the Roma ethnic minority and all of these programs will benefit from the experiences, findings and materials delivered by the project. Another dimension are research and development projects: our school has been historically involved in projects related to increasing the quality of life, health and social position of the ROMA and the deliverables present a strong tool that can be utilized for these purposes. Through these two types of utilization, the long term sustainability of the deliverables is ensured.
Project FINALLY presented at Faculty of Economics of University of Niš
On December 10th 2015, at Faculty of Economics of University of Niš, Council of Scientific Center organized a meeting dedicated to project Finally. Employees of the Faculty – teaching and administrative staff, students and all the interested for this project, were invited to the meeting. On this meeting, members of project team first shortly presented the project, its aims and partners involved, and then the focus was on presentation of pilot trainings organized in previous project period and of the materials which represent the most important outcomes of the project. These materials include Manual for trainers engaged on trainings for increasing financial literacy of Roma, Workbook for training participants and didactical game entitled Romonopoly. Project team members from the Faculty were responsible for composing Manual and Workbook, and involved in creation of the didactical game.
Participants of the meeting, colleagues from the Faculty and students, expressed great interest in project, trainings and presented materials. They asked many questions and gave suggestions for similar initiatives related to increasing the level of financial literacy in Serbia. At the end of the meeting, professors and assistants interested for using the materials in their activities, got the Manuals, Workbooks and Romonopoly.
In January, project team members plan to disseminate the materials to the representatives of NGOs who could use them in their activities.
Successful Completion of the Training of Trainers in Megara
The training of trainers that was organized in the framework of the Financial Literacy for Roma project in the Municipality of Megara was successfully completed. In the training they participated 20 people who were social workers, public servants and other professionals that are working directly or indirectly with Roma. The training was organized in a room equipped with computers where the trainers had the opportunity to see also the training material in an electronic form. The feedback from the trainers was excellent as Finally provided one of the few opportunities that exist in Greece for continuous professional development in such a practical manner. The material and the focus of the course was considered very innovative. Many participants have expressed their will to implement some of the modules of the project also in their daily work with this target group.
Prize draw of the Project FINALLY
On 27 th November 2015 at the project market of the conference Broaden Horizons – Networks and experiences for Successful Roma Inclusion was at the stand of the project Finally held prize game.
Today, on 2nd December 2015 we have a prize draw. Three winners will receive a didactic game, called Romonopoly which was developed within the project Financial literacy of the Roma.

The session Employment opportunities – how to create and exploit them at the conference Broaden Horizons
The session Employment opportunities – how to create and exploit them attracted the largest number of participants (59) at the conference Broaden Horizons. The session was moderated by Gabi Ogulin Počrvina, the project manager of the project Finally. The experiences and projects were shared by eight professionals from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Poland. The first speaker was Klaudija Šterman Ivančič, the FINALLY program reviewer, with the presentation entitled “Enhancing competencies of Slovenian youth to enter market: PISA perspective«. The importance and deliverables of the project Finally were presented by the project manager. Professor Srdjan Marinkovic (Faculty of Economics Niš, project partner) presentated „Financial literacy and self-employability” and pointed out the importance of financial literacy for improving the quality of life of an individual. The session ended with the fruitful discussion.

On the second day of the conference we presented on the project stall the teaching/learning materials for the programme Financial literacy for the Roma, developed during the three – years project FINALLY .
Impressions from the international conference »Broaden Horizons – networks and experiences for successful Roma inclusion«
The invitation to the international conference »Broaden Horizons – networks and experiences for successful Roma inclusion« has been responded by numerous international and national institutions and individuals. Within the two days of the conference, 260 participants from 12 countries presented their work.
At the project market stalls, 26 international projects and examples of good national practices were presented, moreover, more than 90 various contributions were presented within various sessions, work groups, round tables and plenary sessions.
The conference organizers wanted to emphasize the importance of connecting the stakeholders in the field of Roma integration; we wanted to encourage networking and cooperation between the ministries and institutions, to establish new partnerships, and to facilitate the exchange of best practices through the use of materials produced within the framework of various projects in the field of Roma integration.
The organizer of the international conference “Broaden horizons – networks and experiences for successful Roma inclusion” is the Development and Education Centre Novo Mesto, who has organized the conference in cooperation with the partnerships in the projects e-Roma Resource and Finally – financial literacy for Roma. The conference is held under the honorary patronage of his Excellency Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Slovenia.

TRUNI’s participation at the Broaden Horizon Conference in Slovenia
FINALLY Meeting and “Broaden Horizons: Networks and Experiences for Successful Roma Inclusion” International Conference has been organized in Slovenia, Dolenjske Toplice, in the 26th and 27th of November. Trnava University, Public Health Department has been actively involved in many discussions and working activities during the conference. We have participated in the meeting of the project FINALLY (Financial Literacy of Roma) first and then we have been continuing active participation at the conference. Conference has brought together practitioners from more than 10 countries, approximately 260 participants.
The conference mission was to emphasize the importance of connecting the stakeholders in the field of Roma inclusion, networking and cooperation between different stakeholders.
We have been presented project titled: „Training packages for health professionals to improve access and quality of health services for migrants and ethnic minorities, including the Roma (MEM-TP)” and exchanged our experience with pilot training for health professionals.
The most important issue during the conference we would like to highlight is the conference format. Plenary sessions were combined with Project Market and small group’s discussions what was very useful for establishing new partnerships, and the exchange of best practices through the use of materials produced within the framework of various projects in the field of Roma integration.
Crescere nonostante (“Growing up, despite all”), the book for first Codici’s decade
In November 2015, Codici presents a book that celebrates its 10 years. 10 Years spent reading the changes in society through constant feedback between thought and action, between research and intervention.
To celebrate this milestone we decided to translate this experience in words. For the first time we realized a participatory and shared book. Because that’s the way we like to act, produce speeches, designing and questioning.
The book is a repertoire of ways in which today we grow, we live the transition to adult life, we build life often in silence and piece by piece, like a counterpoint to the rhetoric of the end of the future. It is the tale of transformative experiences that today are offered to kids or that they build themselves. The book includes also a chapter by Oana Marcu titled The Reinvention of Roma Adolescence, a focus on the young generations of Roma in Italy.
Crescere nonostante (“Growing up despite all”) comes from the work experience and knowledge of building a common language that has been carried out for and with young people. It describes opportunities, positive examples, possible paths, opportunities today. The ways in which they invent routes to organize their own future teaches us how the world is changing and how the adults are called to a new task, helping generation of pioneers to grow.
Final project meeting in Dolenjske Toplice (Slovenia)
On November 25th 2015, project partners involved in consortium that implements activities within project Finally held their final meeting in Dolenjske Toplice (Slovenia). The meeting project partners from Slovenia, Serbia, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece and Slovakia.
First part of the meeting was dedicated to analyzing the results of previous activities, with special focus on so called pilot activities – trainings aimed at increasing level of financial literacy, for trainers and for beneficiaries – Roma, carried out in all 6 countries involved in the project. During the pilot activities 100 trainers have been trained, and more than 90 Roma have been included in the initial trainings.
During the meeting, partners analyzed Manual for trainers, Workbook for Roma and didactical game, as final results of activities aimed at creating materials to be used in trainings for increasing financial literacy. Partners concluded with pleasure, that, after modifications and improvements, curriculum, lesson plan and materials were judged as excellent by both trainers and beneficiaries.
The second part of the meeting was dedicated to planning further project activities – finalizing project, reporting, and especially – activities related to dissemination and exploitation of project results. Namely, partners expressed willingness to make materials, curriculum, lesson plans and research results (presented in national and transnational reports and e-book Managing uncertanity) available to all the interested parties who could make use of them and carry out follow-up activities.
